Project submitted for the BEFIMMO competition. The goal is to restore an office building on Rue Guimard in the Léopold district to develop high quality ergonomic workspaces.
The purpose of the transformation is to give the skin of the building a whole new look, with two main targets: a passive, or even zero energy superstructure for administrative tasks; and a low or even very low energy consumption ground floor. All of this will respond to PEB 2015 requirements.
Two parts of the existing building will have to be demolished: the first section of the façade to restructure the entrance and create a powerful effect on the corner; the second part at the back, to dramatically improve the office area and enhance the way the building fits in with its environment. Its rounded shape ensures this integration, offering greater cohesion with its neighbouring building. It also increases the building’s surface area, as well as improving its performance and its image.
