The renovation and extension of the Léonard de Vinci hospital had to deal with the challenge of the articulation between the existing single floor building and its extension intended to accommodate the high ceilings of gymnastics halls. This 4250m² project has the particular feature of the creation of a day centre where patients can undergo a series of examinations while enjoying a relaxation space. It also has a glazed, raised swimming pool enabling medical staff to view the patient while remaining out of the water. One of the main areas of attention was the access of natural light throughout almost all of the premises, while preserving the privacy of patients so that they are not directly seen from outside. The plastic artist Jean Glibert has contributed to this project in the creation of a pleasant ambiance through the use of colour and light.
